Hello! I'm Kalliope.
I'm an artist from Athens, Greece, professionally active in the fields of Visual Arts and Music.
I've studied Fine Arts (Dr. Mura's Arts Institute "Texni Ison Gennisi"), Classical Music - piano and singing (International Conservatory of Athens) and Philosophy of Science (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
In greek artist is "καλλιτέχνης", which literally translates to "beauty-art" or "good-technician" as they have interchangeable meanings. For me, intention comes before any (artistic) deed and so I first want to be "good" as a person and secondly be "good" as an artist or anything else, a desire both intense and always a tiny bit out of reach.
My work on Visual Arts includes Traditional Painting - where I use a plethora of media and techniques - Digital Painting / Illustration / Design and Video Art, from video editing to animation.
In Music, I am a soloist as a classical singer (dramatic mezzo-soprano || Diploma: 1st National Prize) and a teacher as a classical pianist. I like playing and listening to various genres of music and experimenting on compositions, mainly as an additional part to my animation projects.
